As to the patch, automatic downloads I set to on, with my Playstation Plus subscription, and overnight it uploads my saves/syncs trophies, etc, and downloads patches for games, and last night, a patch for BBC iPlayer, on the PS3 notification screen it said Patch - BBC iPlayer. So the issue is at your end, as iPlayer works. If you are using the desktop version of BBC iPlayer on the computer, then uninstall and reinstall the program and check if that makes a difference. If the issue persists, please do post this question in the BBC support forums to check if there is any fix that they can help you with.

I have tried it and it worked on mine. I did not have to do the second part. I am not sure why it has not been added to this thread. It was added about 3 hours ago.
